Bow Valley College – Senior Content and Engagement Specialist, Fund Development & Alumni Engagement (FDAE) | (2025 – Present)

Built and operationalized the FDAE Communications function, creating the systems, processes and governance framework that transformed communications from a reactive service into a strategic partner. Developed the department’s first Communications Playbook, which guides all communications work across the department. Established structure, engagement and ownership models through the Playbook, which created accountability, strengthened collaboration across teams and enabled more effective donor and alumni storytelling.

Banff Book Discussion Weekend – Chair, Board of Directors (2025 – 2026)

Led the organization through its 65th anniversary year, setting direction for a national literary retreat that brings together readers from across Canada for a weekend of book discussions. Hosted the AGM and information sessions for almost 60 attendees during the annual weekend.

Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum – Special Projects Editor (2023 – 2025)

Led editorial strategy and operations across print and online platforms, including the flagship newsletter, which resulted in consistent open rates near 60%. Built and managed a year-round internship program, mentoring emerging journalists into freelance contributors and creating the magazine’s first permanent Staff Writer role. Together, these initiatives improved content quality and created a more sustainable talent pipeline for the department. Work under my direction earned recognition from the 2025 National Magazine Awards: B2B edition.

Toast Media Inc. – Editor-in-Chief (2021 – 2022)

Led the shift from print to a daily digital publication. Built the team, set editorial direction and significantly grew audience and reach, increasing website sessions by 223% year-over-year and earning backlinks from major media outlets including Cosmopolitan and Morning Brew. This work was recognized in the Business of Media category at the global 2022 FIPP & UPM Rising Star Awards.

New Forum – Founding Editor (2019 – 2020)

Co-founded and launched an arts and literary magazine, shaping its editorial vision and building the publication from concept to launch. Secured grant funding to cover printing, content development, launch and festival programming that spotlighted local writers and artists. The inaugural issue was named a finalist at the 2020 Alberta Magazine Awards.
