About Me

I’m a writer and editor based in Calgary.

As a reporter, I’ve covered everything from a behind-the-scenes look at the making of a ghost opera to the latest developments in health care. I won an Alberta Magazine Award for this story and was a finalist for this one. My fiction and non-fiction have been published in dozens of magazines, the Tap Press Read 1-3-5 short story anthology and most notably, on Blindman Brewing beer cans.  .

I’m currently the managing editor of toast, a daily online publication. We share positive, inspiring and helpful stories to encourage people to take better care of themselves, each other and the planet. I write and edit feel-good news stories, practical health and wellness tips, simple ideas to live sustainably and just-for-fun content to put a smile on your face.

Previously, I worked on staff for Culinaire, FreeFall and Where Calgary magazines. In 2019, I co-founded New Forum literary magazine, which was recognized as a Best New Magazine Finalist in the 2020 Alberta Magazine Awards. I’ve been a guest speaker on CTV Morning Live, Global News Morning Calgary, CKUA and CBC Radio.

When I’m not writing or editing, you’ll most likely find me on adventures with my husband, Derek, and our spunky rescue dog, Mala, or workin’ on my night cheese.
